Tom Tully

Tom Tully was an American film actor. The former United States Navy seaman and junior reporter for the Denver Post newspaper went into acting because he felt the pay was better. The Colorado-born Tully started out on stage before eventually acting in Hollywood films in 1944. He received an Academy Award nomination for the role of the first commander of the "Caine" in 1954's The Caine Mutiny, with Humphrey Bogart. From 1954 through 1960, Tom Tully played the role of Inspector Matt Grebb on the CBS television detective series The Lineup. His last role was as a crooked gun dealer in Don Siegel's thriller Charley Varrick.
