Harold Ford, Jr

Harold Eugene Ford, Jr. is the current chairman of the Democratic Leadership Council and is a former member of the United States House of Representatives from Tennessee. Ford represented the state's 9th congressional district, centered in Memphis, from 1997 to 2007. Ford did not seek reelection to his House seat in 2006 when he unsuccessfully sought the Senate seat being vacated by the retiring Bill Frist. He is a member of the Democratic Party and was part of the Blue Dog Coalition.
