Alfonso Herrera

Alfonso "Poncho" Herrera Rodríguez is a Mexican actor and singer known primarily for performances in Mexican telenovelas. He is also a member of the music group RBD.

As a kid, Alfonso, or Poncho as his friends call him, dreamed of becoming a pilot and wanted to move to San Antonio, Texas to enroll in an aviation school. He had also shown an interest in acting at an early age, and therefore he enrolled in the Centro de Educación Artística run by Latin American media giant Televisa. Following this training, he worked professionally in theater, including performances in Las Brujas de Salem, Como matar a un ruiseñor and Antigona. In 2002, he was cast in the film Amar te duele, directed by Fernando Sariñana, and from there moved into television, working in the telenovelas Clase 406 and Rebelde.
