8GB Nokia N95 with 3G Approved by FCC

A version of Nokia's N95 uber smartphone with 8GB of storage and U.S.-friendly 3G cellular-wireless data networking has been approved by Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for release in this country. This is significant because all devices slated for American airwaves must receive a thumbs up from the FCC before shipping here.

Two editions of the N95 are already available in this country, one with 8GB of memory and the other with far less storage but with 3G support. The version just given a thumbs up by the FCC is the first to combine both of these important features.

During CES earlier this month, Nokia announced this smartphone would ship sometime during the first quarter. Clearing the FCC hurdle makes this timeframe all the more likely. Rumors estimate a February 15th release. (Source)

Olivia Munn Injured On G4TV Set

Olivia Munn found herself with a separated left shoulder after she had a fall during a G4TV segment which had her in a pool of baby oil.

G4TV's impossibly shiny haired co-host of Attack Of The Show, Olivia Munn, sure is a trouper. During a bit that aired near the end of Friday's episode, Munn took a nasty spill while writhing about in a shallow pool of baby oil (and you wonder why we DVR the show every night?). Turns out that her slip-n-fall bruised more than just her ego; after the show was completed, paramedics were called to the scene and she was "whisked" away to a local hospital. (Source)

Researchers have found that women who consume the equivalent of two or more cups of regular coffee or five 12-ounce cans of caffeinated soda are twice as likely to have a miscarriage than pregnant woman who avoid caffeine.

Pregnant women who drink two or more cups of coffee a day have twice the risk of having a miscarriage as those who avoid caffeine, U.S. researchers said on Monday.

They said the study provides strong evidence that high doses of caffeine during pregnancy -- 200 milligrams or more per day or the equivalent of two cups of coffee -- significantly increase the risk of miscarriage. And they said the research may finally put to rest conflicting reports about the link between caffeine consumption and miscarriage.
