Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, President of Iran, is a Blogger?

Apparently so. Welcome to bizarro world.
According to an article over at the New York Times, Ahmadinejad has been blogging for over a year and has promised to spend 15 minutes a week to update his website.
The irony is palpable and the NYT doesn’t fail to point it out.
There is a political irony to Mr. Ahmadinejad’s blogging, since other Iranian bloggers, including reporters who worked for news Web sites, came under more pressure after his election. Hundreds of Web sites and blogs that were critical of the government have been blocked. Censorship has been so wide that the president’s blog was once blocked mistakenly along with Google for a day. I wonder if there is any real morale behind his blog. A blog without comments on any posts but lots of questions and appreciation in kind of shoutbox style section at the sidebar. I think he might be the only president who blogs.

Well if you if like controversy, political opinion, and one side of the story…go for it.
I wonder if he knows how to code, and wonder what blogging platform he likes best. Will he post videos? Do heads roll if he cannot get in touch with tech support, or they give him a line of BS.
I think all heads of state should be required to have a blog. It should be part of there platform to get elected.
What? No elections…OK then to be appointed.

This is really bizzaro, I couldn’t agree more. I went to the source you mentioned and it just floored me especially on this one below:
“The blog has been hacked several times. In August, a group called Yahoo Underground hacked his site and posted a sarcastic message saying, “We thank you on behalf of all Iranian hackers for defending the right of Iranian people against all the countries in the world.”
“We hope that you defend the irrefutable right of Iranian people to nuclear energy until your last breath,” it added.”
Hmmmmmmnnn, I wonder what happened to the IT person who accidentally blocked his blog? I hope the person still had his head and body intact……

Blogging dont mean he would write everything.

Very strange indeed… Although the layout looks nice, I have to admit. If blog comments (especially the ones in English) have the freedom to say negative things, then how come Iranian bloggers who challenge the government get more heat? Frankly, the fact that even the president’s actual blog got blocked by mistake was pretty funny.

He really has a blog? That’s funny. And weird, too. As far as I know, there are no presidents of countries who actually blogs, I wonder how he finds a time to blog, considering how busy he is as a president.

He’s gotta be a busy president. No way he blogs himself, lol.

This is really weird! He got to have too many free time or someone else is blogging for him! Anyway, I think that this is his way off showing that he isn’t that crazy, but actually a real cool president who blogs!

I’m sure Bush has threatened that if they don’t give up their nuclear program, he will refuse to comment on Ahmadinejad’s blog.
