George Lucas Has A Sick Sense Of Humor
I’ve always been a big fan of the Star Wars films but when George Lucas started messing with them with the Special Editions, he lost me. With each iteration the changes just kept getting worse, but nothing offended fans more than the changes to the Han Solo/Greedo encounter from the first film.
Now George has been caught on the Indiana Jones 4 set wearing a “Han Shot First” t-shirt.

Is he finally admitting he made a mistake or is this just another “screw you” to the fans?
Seeing as these shirts are available at the official Star Wars store I’d have to say it’s more the latter.

Bah, great way to sell t-shirts. So many people know of and follow the who shot 1st thing, that throwing alittle salt in the wounds is a great way to bring things back up, generate more interest, and sell some t-shirts.
Marketing ploy = A+
T-shirts sold = we’ll see

Just to sell tshirts? Unlikely IMO.

hey thanks for visiting my blog int he past. Currently I am relocating and changing jobs and would like to hand my blog over to some one else. It is only about 3 months old and has gotten great reviews. Please contact me if you or anyone else is interested. There will be no cost attached except a small fee for my labors. Please post about it in your blog. Maybe you can start a discussion going abut whether someone can get rid of a blog by selling it and so on, be creative. Thanks…http://neriaswhirl.blogspot.com/

First of all, I want to commend you for
publishing one of the most compelling, interesting blogs I’ve seen in quite some time and where it is now positioned at the very top of a very long list of RSS feeds at Google Reader.
As far as George Lucas is concerned
he has really stopped mattering at all, especially now in an era where his power and influence has dropped precipitously with his announcement
that his days of Star Wars sequels are over so one need kiss his liberal-ass political butt anymore because of any new Star Wars movie
he might have still made.
The Hans shot first controversy is really a left-wing’s liberal metaphor
for gun control. In our society, we justify a case of shoot strategy if it
is a matter of self-defense.
A major problem lies with the fact that despite Greedo’s threatening stance
and tough talk bravado, whether Greedo was about to shoot first, and
thus exonerating Han from any left-wing culpability in claiming self defense remains murky and ambiguous.
In the first original iteration of Star Wars ,Lucas, was more than happy to allow Han to shoot first because of
his need for character development
of Han as the rogue mercernary that
served the film’s purpose and plot line very well but never sat well with Lucas the left-wing liberal gun control
advocate.
But once Han’s status of rogue was
burnished deep into the psyche of Star Wars fans, he could then atone
for his liberal sin of seeming to condone the use of guns in a situation
where he wasn’t really threatened by adding a few new special effects with the less than perfectly choreographed shot where Han shot first and which is the reason for Lucas’s new T-Shirt fiasco.
To validate my point, all you need to do is to take note of how his fellow,
left-wing, liberal gun control advocate
director buddy Steven Spielberg went
even further to proving his anti-gun
credentials with something even more radical and extreme, which was to completely emove any semblance of
guns when he re-eleased his ET:New
and Improved version by digitally deleting those very shot guns the FBI agents came armed with as they
cornered ET in the hospital. Quite over the top, don’t you think?
