Google Global Firefox Extension
Dave Davis from RedFly Marketing has created a neat extension for Firefox called Google Global. It allows you to quickly switch to search results from a different country without changing URL’s or manually appending search strings.
If you’re like me and are constantly checking search results from different countries then this plugin will come in handy. I’ve only had it installed for a day and it’s already getting a good workout.
The easiest way to use Google Global is to simply do a search for something on Google. Google Global Firefox Extension supports all Google search properties. When you do your search, simply right click anywhere on the search results page, select “Search Google Global” and select what country you would like to see the results from. It is as simple as that.
One other feature which has been included is the ability to turn off Google’s personalized search results. I only noticed this when I went snooping in the options menu. It will block personalized searches by default but only on the results that you switch to and not the original search.

Simple but powerful extension of Google - nice! I grew up partly in Germany and Australia but rarely search for German or Australian sites specifically, even when I’m searching for information about those countries. Think I’ll give that a try.
I’ve just added something to my site that tracks incoming sources, and one of the most interesting things I’ve found was a few recent Google search sources that were not from the US (though the UK was not a shock of course).

You’ll find Google traffic comes from all over the place. I like to keep track of how my sites rank in different countries so this plugin saves me some time.
