ProSense: An Adsense Ready SEO Wordpress Theme
Over the past week I’ve been working with Maki from Dosh Dosh on a new Wordpress theme we have named ProSense. Our goal was to create a fast loading theme that was easy to customize, with well blended Adsense units included by default. It can be a pain trying to find the optimal position for Adsense units, so too trying to get them to blend seamlessly. This theme removes that tedious task and allows you to focus on what’s most important: your content.
Over the coming week we’ll be releasing some variations on this theme to give users a greater choice when it comes to colour scheme. There has already been some requests and we will try to address them all.
For a more detailed description of the features and benefits check out Maki’s post on Prosense.
It’s always a little nerve-racking releasing something like this because you never be sure how people are going to react, but so far the response has been extremely positive. If you have any feedback or suggestions we’d love to hear from you.

Nice theme, very simple and I believe will definitely convert high for Adsense publishers.
May 18th, 2007 at 2:02 pm
I’m totally interested in seeing where this theme goes! I’ve been hesitant on putting ads, especially because I wouldn’t know what theme to use that wouldn’t interfere with my content.
My preferred color scheme: blue.
If you could use a custom header image, that would rock!
I’m slightly giddy. Sorry.
May 18th, 2007 at 2:27 pm
Bryan, blue has been a big request. It’s at the top of the list at the moment.
Custom header images are coming too. Alot of people have asked for them and I think it will look nice.
Thanks for the feedback as well. This is going to be an evolving project and we are hoping peoples feedback will help us shape it into something bloggers will find truly useful.
May 18th, 2007 at 2:30 pm
Yeah very well put theme. Well, except for the color scheme. No offense, but it looks totally like the one here http://www.poopreport.com/.
(hint: that site’s colors match the content lol
May 18th, 2007 at 2:34 pm
Yeh it was more of a business look we went for with this first iteration. Within the next day or two you will see some more flamboyant colour schemes.
May 18th, 2007 at 3:07 pm
Very, very nice. Adding it to Unmatched Themes right now.
May 18th, 2007 at 3:10 pm
Thanks Shane. I was a little worried before we released it but after seeing it running on a few established sites I’m pleased with how it turned out. The optional versions we have coming out should expand well on the current scheme.

Thank You for this theme, I’ve included it on my website now; I gave it a blueish color scheme, so you can visit my website and tell me how you like it (it doesn’t show well in IE though). All I changed was bg-colors and the jpg file, so it’s very easily customizable theme. Thanks again.
May 20th, 2007 at 5:07 pm
Looking pretty good! a little customization and different color palette and one is ready to go with that theme!
well-done! i might use it on another blog of mine i’m working on.
May 21st, 2007 at 12:29 am
Yep! A better colour theme would have been nice. Anyway, we ourselves could customize it and make the theme lovely!
May 22nd, 2007 at 1:30 am
I love! i already use it on my blog : http://www.weightloss-helpers.com/blog/
It would ne nice indeed, to have more color option but this one is great too.
May 22nd, 2007 at 4:37 pm
It looks great! I added it to my TravelAccountants blog today and changed the AdSense over to my account.
The only thing I forgot to do was to include my channels, so I went back and updated those as well.
Thank you.
May 25th, 2007 at 8:57 am
Thanks so much for the effort of making this theme! If it offered the possibility to add a custom header it would be perfect. Untill then, is it possible to integrate a header manually?
Also I am hoping for a colour scheme with warmer colors, like red, yellow or orange.
But again: your work is highly appreciated!

A very well planned theme in my opinion. Takes a little time in setting all the publisher ad codes, but i guess it’s more than worth.
I really enjoyed setting proadsense on one of my blog. Thanks for a great and a well thought of theme.:)

July 9th, 2007 at 10:07 pm
I realised that the Adsense codes are yours, bundled in the ProSense theme. How can I change it to my own adsense codes? It doesnt make sense to have your adsense account in my website, does it?
Also, I cant seem to change/edit your theme, doesnt it restrict anyone to customise it just a little bit to their own taste?
Thanks and appreciate your speedy reply by email.
July 10th, 2007 at 8:05 am
That adsense code is there for demonstration. It can be changed by editing the .php that are labeled adense_.
There’s nothing preventing you from customizing the theme, you just have to have some knowledge of css and php.
July 14th, 2007 at 10:23 am
Good job, thanks.
But I found two little bugs in the template. There are to much closed form-tags in funktions.php an searchform.php

Just thought I’d pop in and say THANKS! Beautiful and snappy theme that works well with all the right things [SEO and AdSense] Woohoo =)

Hi, Prosense series are absolutely great themes, i downloaded them all, and currently use Prosense for my blog at http://www.thegeom.com. I like the theme very much, especially for the blended adsenses. thank you.
But, i have a trouble right now and need help.
First time i use Prosense, everything is just fine, it works amazingly. Then i started to install many plugins. It worked just fine, when suddenly i got this problem: at only my main page where the display is not like it used to be:
- the sidebars are dropping, and
- the font is getting bigger and bigger, after the middle-adsense
would you please help me, what happen to my main page ? i’m sure, i have done something wrong with the code, but i can’t figure it out. I just want to see it as it used to be.
thank you for your kindness help.

Hello B.A.B.E.,
just a quick note: if you look into header.php file (in the theme folder) you will see an html+php code:
….
That is the command line that “calls” the div section from the style.css file (always in the theme folder).
Go to that file, look for the “h1″ tag within the #header_left div rules, and add a new css rule with the image path you want to add, something like:
background: url(’images/your_image.jpg’)
It should works.
Regards,
Nicola

Hello,
I love the theme and want to continue to use it for my blog, but there seem to be display issues in Internet Explorer.
The right column shifts downward when viewing in IE7, and I’ve viewed several theme users here who’s sites have the same issue.
This is a pretty major display problem in IE, so I’m wondering if there are any solutions.
I personally use Opera, which shows fine, but a lot of people still use IE, so any help is appreciated.
Thank you, John

Hi Guys I’m not big into coding and one appreciate some advice.
I’m using a Prosense theme with my own header added. What I would like to do now is to place four affiliate ad boxes 125×125 at the top of my page - two in sidebar right and two in sidebar left. Each lining up and matching their brothers in the opposite column.
I’m getting it difficult to line them up properly so they’ll not look like they’ve just been thrown in there without any thought. Anybody done this and prepared to share their code - I really would appreciate it.
I’m thinking that perhaps the best way to do it would be with CSS or failing that tables, but I haven’t a clue how!
I think I’d like to line the boxes up just below where the search box is now, probably where Pages is. Personally I would not mind loosing the skyscraper if it would make the affiliate links look better.
Any help greatly appreciated
Kevin.

Solved the problem of placing affiliate boxes in the two side columns - it was really quite simple at the end of the day

First of all I want to thank you for your design.
All of the pages display properly but I’m having trouble getting the Column addsense banner to display relavent adds on the home page. The only adds it is showing pertain to blogging.
I saw someone else had that problem also but didn’t see any technique to help out.
I’d appreciat a suggestion.
Thanks.

Hi there!
First to say … great work on the proSense Theme!
At the moment i am trying to get a solution on a small think i wanna do for my blog.
I made a News “category” where i sorted all my news-posts in. Can someone help me getting a solution only displaying only posts on the “mainpage” that are part of one “category”?
At the moment ALL posts are going to be displayed on the “mainpage”.
Thx digital.killshot

Hi, The right sidebars won’t display in a “single post” with the upgrade to WP 2.6 What can I do to display the content that was in my sidebards previously?

Hi again,
ok I now found the solution on the question i had before by myself.
It really was easy to get only posts from a special category on the mainpage.
If someone also wanna get it, here is the easy way to do:
You have to add this line (replacing the category you want) …
in front of the code:
on the “Main Index Template”
Thats all.

I couldn’t see your solution to displaying only special posts on main page. Could you repaste the code?
Thanks.

Thanks so much for your fantastic Adsense-ready Wordpress themes. They are an absolute godsend… Perfect for the small business site or blogger.

I really love this theme, and I figured out how to insert a custom header image, but I can’t figure out how to get rid of the text in the header area (on the left side). I’ve tried everything I can think of (and a few things others have thought of) but the most I can get to go away is the tagline (which is then replaced with another line of the blog’s title).
Can anyone help me? Please?

John, I too have the same display problem when loading my site using IE7 (Internet Explorer 7). The two right columns shifts downwards and starts from the footer instead.
I tried messing around with the width attribute for the “page” and “sidebar” classes, but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

Hi Dan,
I downloaded the Prosense Grey but I would like to change the BGround color to White from light grey. I couldn’t figure out where in the style sheet to change that light grey color.
Any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks
Love your blog!

great Theme but …..i can’t see my menu …..why ?

There are still rendering issues with Internet Explorer (6 and 7, not usre about 8).
ProSense is a great theme, but if someone is trying to amke ad revenue, it doesn’t make sense at all to virtually eliminate 60% of web users.
Anyone know how to rig ProSense so that at least IE 7 will render it correctly (i kow this is really IE’s fault, but reality is reality and it ain’t going away)?
Thanks for the theme however,
KRM

Nice theme. Would love to add a plugin to change the adsense pub id or add yahoo instead or perhaps some other affilaite ads.
