Wordpress Plugin: Twitter Tools
Alex King has created a plugin for Wordpress called Twitter Tools, which comprehensively integrates your blog with your Twitter account.
Here are some of the features:
- Archive your Twitter tweets (downloaded every 15 minutes)
- Create a blog post from each of your tweets
- Create a daily digest post of your tweets
- Create a tweet on Twitter whenever you post in your blog, with a link to the blog post
- Post a tweet from your sidebar
- Post a tweet from the WP Admin screens Pass your tweets along to another service (via API hook)
The feature which appeals to me the most is the ability to automatically create a tweet whenever I complete a new post on my blog. Most of the time I either forget or I’m too busy to jump on to Twitter and write about a new post so this function will do all the work for. I’m lazy, I know.

Oh I must have overlooked the Dashboard news as I did not find this yet.
Thanks for sharing the news here, I am going to install and check this plugin out this weekend.

I had to disable mine because it would tweet that I had a new blog post every time I saved a draft. Maybe I was doing something wrong? I’d love to enable it again

Hi Gabrielle. I think you can disable it on the Twitter Tools options. Look for it on the dashboard. It’s there.

Alex,
This tool is awesome. What a great promotional vehicle. It’s going to help tremendously with getting additional exposure for my blog.

This tool has been awesome and makes it so easy to post to twitter from my blog. I have about 141 twitter followers now, and each time I post to my blog it announces the post on twitter and visitors start showing up. There was a problem for a few days after a twitter api update, but they were able to work it out and has been working great since.
