Wordpress Plugin: Comment Relish
Created by Justin Shattuck, the Comment Relish plugin will send a ‘thank you’ email whenever someone comments on your blog for the first time. This is a nice way of establishing a personal connection with new visitors.
The message can be customized using a range of tags (timestamp, author name, comment) to give it a more personal feel.

Dan…love the remake of your site btw.
On the manner of the thank you note I guess it’s a great way to show appreciation the first time around.
For a moment I thought it was going to be for each post…phew!!

Thanks Adrian.
If you can create a good enough message I think it could be very useful. You just have to make it sound sincere.

Hey Dan,
You should make a page to keep all these hacks and plugins you find. Just a thought…
New readers would appreciate it, too.

this plugin will kill your blog if you have a lot of comments. Check out my optimizations for it if you want a fix http://patchlog.com/wordpress/more-optimization-for-comment-relish-plugin/
