MyBlogLog Link Train Meme
Derrich and James have both tagged me for the MyBlogLog link train extravaganza. Once this list gets some size adding communities is going to be a punish due to the 15 community add limit that is in place. Read More
Here are the rules:
- Write a short introduction about how you found this list and include a link back to that blog.
- COPY the rules and ENTIRE list below and post it on your blog.
- Take “My New Community Members” and move them into the “The Original Community Members” list.
- Find 3 new blogs, join their MyBlogLog Community and add them to the “My New Community Members” section. Remember to also add the “Join the Community” link next to your new blogs. This is just a link to the blog’s community page. ( Example: http://www.mybloglog.com/buzz/community/shawnknight/ )
- Join as a member to each Community listed here by clicking on “Join the Community”. The goal is that all of the new Members listed will join your community, and you should do the same!

Dan,
Have you had much juice from all of these recent memes, because I have not? I think maybe readers are getting tired of these as well. You certainly can’t consider it good content…can you (IMO)?

It depends on the meme really. The ones that generate ideas I like. Ones like this I am more wary of. Still it’s good to be sociable.

Taking a few pages from the offline media world, there are issues to weigh like clutter vs. quality of leads. I think it’s better to generate “organic” growth from people who have made a decision to join because of some real affiliation.
It’s getting to the point where I tend to avoid some places (like ilkeryodas) that have thousands of members, because I know the numbers are indiscriminate and don’t reflect the actual value of the blog.

Sprague - I agree with you there. That’s one of the reasons I’m using asides and have excluded them from my feed. I can write these sorts of posts if I want to but they don’t intrude on the reading experience.

Actually, I feel like these things are a bit like an annoying homework assignment. (Sorry to give it to you Dan). This one did get me to check out a few new blogs, which was good (I found this one).
I have seen a significant increase in traffic doing the ones I’ve been tagged with, but I would really like to just keep working on the posts I already need to spend time on.
I think soon they will reach the point of chain letters and most everyone will ignore them.
