Intel’s Vision Of The Future
In this video Intel gives us a glimpse of the technology they envision we’ll all be using in the future. It seems to me we already have alot this technology at present but for various reasons it’s not viable for mass consumption.
- It’s cost prohibitive.
- In some cases it isn’t mature enough. Take voice recognition for example. It works… sometimes.
- They are just expensive gadgets and not useful tools.
- This is the most important factor. People don’t want to look like idiots.

I used to have many business contacts in telecom, and they always said much of this has been designed for 10-15 years ahead of the market.
The problem, as you pointed out partly, is the legacy technology. New products would make current technology obsolete. This also seems be be part of the problem for going completely wireless.
Think about all the industry sectors that are based on being hard wired.

Good info. Intel needs something promising in its pipeline. It’s still head and shoulders above AMD, but it’s still a boring company (stock market-wise) until it comes up with something new…or acquires another company. They’ve got alot of cash to use.

To Derrich:
Did you see where Intel has a new directional antenna for WiFi with 60 Mile radius? I think they are much like Motorola, great inventors, but lousy at marketing.
They are better off leaving sales to the tech companies that use their technology.

I haven’t seen that. Interesting. Most investors might consider that stepping outside of their “comfort zone”. I’m definitely going to look into that. Thanks for the heads-up, dn.
