Speedlinking - 19th April 2007
- Fitting with my current obsession with online TV, JohnTP has a post about a really cool freeware video player called Democracy. Apart from playing all the major video formats it also lets you search and download videos from a host of video services like YouTube, Google Video, and Revver.
- It looks like Ebay will be acquiring StumbleUpon for an amount somewhere in the $40 - $45 million range. Unimpressed with missing out on the purchase, Google has announced their own service. Someone’s a little bitter.
- Andy Beard takes an in-depth look at how Google Blogsearch ranks blog posts.
- Bad news for Microsoft. After launching Windows Vista in China 2 weeks ago they have sold a total of 244 genuine copies. There isn’t much incentive for the Chinese to buy legitimate copies when pirated versions sell for $1 on the street.
- Mozilla has released the final version of Thunderbird 2, their open source email client.

Rob - I’ve been playing around with Democracy a bit. It’s very useful for downloading videos from YouTube and other streaming video services. There is a lot to explore such as the subscription options, which look interesting. I’d definetly recommend checking it out.

While checking the site my blog I came across your site and it caught my interest. I wanted to tellyou that i found it very informative with all the blogging tips and tech news. altho by me being a newbie to all this tech terms and to blogging I still was able to get information tht I did undertand and I made use of. I even got my first feed I subscribed to yours. I found this way I can keep up to date with whats happening. The blog I made its my very first one and I still have not finished with it but I hope with help it willbe a sucess. I need to make ends meet this is why I got the blog but now its more to me then that . I hope people will go and visit with me and contribute their thoughts and their interests. I call it this and that because it consists of a little of everything a little of this and a little of that. So I leave you this comment with a big thank you for your help . This blog of yours should rank as number ONE because it is of use to everyone on the net and its put together very well.

Listen I subscribed to your feed Wrong advice but now how do I get the feed link or url or banner on my blog where it says feeds or posts its been taking me two hours and I still cant find what to do? HELP
