A bit of blog housekeeping
You may have noticed a few subtle additions to the blog. I’ve been meaning to get around to doing a big update but things keep coming up so I’m just going to do it in increments.
This is what I’ve added so far:
- Subscribe via email - For those of you who don’t use rss you can now get updates via email. This is actually my preferred option when I subscribe to blogs. I still haven’t been bitten by the rss bug.
- Related Posts - This has only been added to individual posts at the moment. I feel it may break up the flow if I put it on the main page.
- Subscribe To Comments - So now you can receive comment updates via email. I really should’ve added this one sooner.
- WP-ContactForm: Akismet Edition - If you need to contact me, now you can. This version of ContactForm runs through Akismet so it should significantly reduce the instances of spam getting through. I hope so anyway.
That’s it so far. Next on the list is MyAvatars, WP-Polls, and Top Post by Category. And maybe a few others.
I hate to admit it after what I wrote yesterday but I also installed two other plugins, FireStats and WordPress Reports. Both of these are really good stat reporting plugins that integrate with WordPress.

Oh some nice additions there.
I recently added MyAvatars to my site too as well as script to display my Technorati rank.
It’s fun adding features isn’t it?

I’m optimizing my site right now too, adding a bunch of plug-ins. One question — where did you get the plug-ins on your site for the social bookmarks and the star rating? I want both of those.
Also, you know, it took me a while to find where to comment on your site. Perhaps I was tired but I just couldn’t find the comments link. I think because it’s grey and blends in w/ all the other grey text. Perhaps you should make the link a different color or in some other way more obvious — just a suggestion.

You can get the Gregarious social bookmarking plugin from here.
Just a suggestion though, read my post about the problem I had with it and google before you install it.
Some other people have told me the same thing about the comments. I’ll definetly have to do something about that. Thanks for letting me know.
